Worship Ministry
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!" - Revelation 5:12
One of the most important things we do is to ascribe worth and honor to the only One who is worthy - our Creator, Sustainer, and Deliverer - the Lord God Almighty. There is no higher or nobler task as we realize the privilege of enjoying personal fellowship with Him.
Corporate worship, therefore, is a critical element of the local church. We cannot effectively practice inreach (ministering to each other) or outreach (ministering to the lost) without first focusing on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our worship of Him should drive our desires to serve others and to spread His Word.
Subsequently, those who serve in this area of ministry play vital roles in facilitating Christ-centered worship, so that we all might "worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24).
How We Worship
At Cornerstone you'll notice various aspects of our worship:
And it all practices this underlying principal:
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts unto God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." (Colossians 3:16-17).
Joining the Worship Team
How can you "plug in" to worship at Cornerstone?
If you sing, play an instrument, or have experience with either audio/video, there could be a place for you to serve in worship ministry. Whether singing, playing, or working behind the scenes running sound or multimedia presentations, we are always looking for gifted, willing individuals who want to use their gifts to glorify God.
Musical: Vocal and Instrumental
- Praise Team
- Soloist
- Ensemble
- Keyboard
- Guitar
- Brass
- Drums
- Woodwind
While we don't hold auditions for our vocalists or instrumentalists, we do request that you attend a few practices to develop a familiarity with the material. If you play an instrument that we already have, you may still sit in and become comfortable with what we do, because as God continues to grow His church, we will look toward having multiple services and using multiple praise teams.
Technical
If you have experience in any of these applicable areas, we would love to visit with you and see where your skills might fit. |
